Meet Linda Dunn!

Hey everyone! I’m Linda. I am a Lubbock native and graduate of Frenship High School and Texas Tech University. I met my husband Will while at Texas Tech (thanks Alpha Phi Omega!) and he proposed at Putt-Putt. We got married downtown one week after I graduated and then moved to San Antonio for seven years. While we loved living in San Antonio and loved the family that we made, we are a big family and small-town people so we were itching to make the move back to Lubbock.

After getting all of our ducks in a row, we moved back almost four years ago. Why Lubbock? Lubbock is home. My family is all here and Will’s family is right next door in New Mexico. Will works remotely from his office at home and I am a stay at home mom. Before kids, I was an elementary school teacher. We have two cats, Sammy and Hedwig, who are both eleven years old. Our kids are Atticus (7) and Ruby (4). We are really excited to put our roots down here in Lubbock and to raise our kids here.

Lubbock has grown so much in the seven years we were gone! It is really amazing! We love some of our favorite “big city” places with a small town feel. When we are child-free, you can usually find us at Alamo Drafthouse. We are big movie people. And don’t even get me started on how excited I am about Cheesecake Factory here in town! It’s my favorite! Next, we really need an HEB over here! Who do we talk to about that?? With our kids, we love all of the playgrounds and we seem to almost always be at McDonald’s on Saturday for chicken nugget brunch. We are a family of readers and you can usually find Ruby and me at story time at the City of Wolfforth Library (our favorite library in the area). We also love us some Target shopping, Icees, and leaving a trail of popcorn all over the store.

I would love to have more family and budget-friendly events in town for all ages. And more variety of places! We can only go jumping so many times, you know. I would really love a children’s museum and even a zoo! And indoor places too! There are always days when we just need to get out of the house but can’t go to the playground because it’s super windy, there’s snow, it’s raining, or all of the weather combined. (Lubbock living, right?) It would be so great to find an indoor place with fun things to do that don’t cost an arm and a leg. I am so excited about the aquarium!

So say hey or wave at us when you see us around! And keep checking our page for all kinds of new stuff. These Lubbock Moms Blog ladies are amazing!
