I’m Stephanie McMurray! I’m 27 years old, a proud wife, and a mom to two toddlers. I am a Labor and Delivery nurse, and I love it. I guess you could say I have a passion for motherhood at home and at work! My husband and I have been married for a little over 5 years, he works in ministry and is currently in a church-planting residency. I love spending time with friends and family in our home, planning parties, and exploring new places. We have a full and fun life!
I came to Lubbock as a fresh-faced 18-year-old (hello late summer birthdays!) to attend Texas Tech University and have been here since. I had a wonderful college experience. I found Jesus, made the best friends (that are still!) and met my husband. I did 2 years on the main campus for my prerequisites and 2 years at the nursing school, then got married the fall after I graduated. My husband’s family are Texas Tech Alumni through and through, so we’re proud to call Lubbock home and breathe in the Red Raider spirit.
I love that Lubbock is so family friendly! Maybe it’s just our season of life, but it is such a welcoming place to grow your family. There are so many mom groups, play dates, and places like the Science Spectrum. People are genuinely kind in Lubbock and you’ll usually find multiple friends in common with just about everyone. I love the small town feel, even in the big city. Oh, and no traffic!
Although I love Lubbock, I wish it was a little closer to… something! Ha! Being from North Texas, the 6-hour drive to basically anywhere is tough with toddlers. But, on the other hand, we can easily go west to the mountains in just a few hours. So I’m thankful for that!
